This is so delicious, it’s hard to only drink one glass! It’s like a chocolate milkshake, but packed full of 5 high quality protein sources (NO soy). I’ve never cared much for protein shakes, but this one tastes so good and is so good for me, that it has won me over.
We know protein is important, but how much protein do we need each day? Here’s a quick guide:
- Babies: about 10 grams
- School-age kids: 19-34 grams
- Teenage boys: up to 52 grams
- Teenage girls: 46 grams
- Adult men: about 56 grams
- Adult women: about 46 grams
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women: about 71 grams
My quick recipe for a chocolate milkshake is:
- 8 ounces of organic milk – this jug is from Coulter Farms which you can find at the Alexandria Farmers Market in Old Town on Saturday mornings.
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 scoops of Pure Protein Complete Chocolate Deluxe – which equals 25 grams of protein. Half the protein I need for a day.
Blend quickly in a vitamix or blender until smooth.
I also enjoy this protein powder made in a Young Living shaker bottle when I’m on the go and need something quick to fill me up. Especially when I don’t have time or access to a snack or meal. 1 or 2 scoops with water. I mix it up when I’m ready to drink it. Super handy and convenient!

So what’s in it? Five different protein sources to create a more nutritionally comprehensive blend: whey protein, goat milk, egg whites, peas, and organic hemp seed. No soy! Providing a full range of amino acids (critical for metabolism and weight management). Includes a proprietary blend of enzymes (very important for a healthy digestive system), B vitamins, elevATP or Ancient peat and Apple extract to support ATP production (critical for nervous system support, energy and focus).
If for some reason you aren’t the chocolate lover I am, or want something more neutral for your smoothies, this Pure Protein Complete is also available in Vanilla Spice which is tasty too!
With a Young Living Wholesale Membership, it’s about $1.80 a scoop (12.5 grams of protein) and can be a meal replacement, especially with the addition of fruit and greens and a plant or animal milk. Quite a deal considering all that’s packed into it!
